Green Ears, 2011

Question:

That’s wheat. And it is not Aviv, either.  It is only in the Cotton Stage.

 Shalom.

Almost every year since 1984 a representative has brought back green ears from Israel. As you presumably know, there is not a lot of barley being grown in "eretz" Israel. If you notice though, not only is there wheat in the picture but also a representative amount of barley. This barley evidence, picked in the Negev a week before Yahweh’s New Moon this past weekend, contains kernels of grain mid-to-late dough stage. This dough-stage is acceptable because of the provision in Yahweh’s Law allowing for the Wave Sheaf offering to be parched.

You point out that in the pictures there is wheat in the head. To an observant Israelite this in itself would be a sign pointing to Abib. Exodus 9:32. Right before Passover the wheat was in the grass stage during the time the 7th plague fell on the Egyptians but the barley was in the ear. Exodus 34:22 dictates that wheat is the first-fruits of the Shavuot season. This year, the calculated calendar shows that we are now 6 ½ weeks until the Jews would offer the wave sheaf. Seven weeks following that is Shavuot. That means we are almost 14 weeks away from the time the Jews would allow wheat to be harvested. With my decades of personal farming experience, wheat takes four to six weeks longer than barley to ripen. Wheat being in the head now demonstrates another witness  beyond a shadow of doubt that this year Abib is early.

That said, we are a Bible-Reading, Bible-Believing organization. Exodus 12, Deuteronomy 16 (and  others) clearly state, “Green ears of barley-New Moon-Abib” Very simple. We have barley in Bethel, picked in the promised land that would be capable of being parched and offered as a wave sheaf offering following the Sabbath during the Feast of Unleavened Bread, March 19. When Yahweh says go, His people will move.

Shalom In Yahshua’s Name!

Note: To anyone, with any amount of agricultural experience or common sense must agree that, wheat in the heads now (March 10) show that barley, being four to six weeks farther advanced would be ready for the Wave Sheaf offering. That is the main reason that we, along with the barley evidence, show progression of the wheat crop. As stated above, the barley kernels that were threshed-out March 3, in Bethel contained parch-able meal sufficient to make an unleavened cake.
These are exactly the same indicators that Elder Jacob O. Meyer found and brought back to Bethel in 2005. Based on these indicators he made the call for an early year.
